Michael Kent Murphy has been designing beautiful homes in the Sierra Foothills for thirty years. Michael learned early to appreciate architecture and the arts as he traveled extensively through Europe and lived in North Africa as a youth. After serving in the U.S. Air force during the Vietnam War, he graduated with a degree in Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in 1974. Michael has designed over 300 projects in the Auburn area since that time. Two hundred of the projects have been custom homes of every style and configuration. The difficulty of designing a home for the foothills created a challenge- but nothing this Architect couldn't master.
Many of his commercial buildings are well known; The Promenade in the old Auburn Hotel; Placer Sierra Bank on the corner of Hwy 49 and Bell Road; Nevada Station (now the Conheim Station); The Courthouse Office Plaza; The Courtview Offices; The Shaw Building in Old Town; several Firehouses; The Auburn Alehouse; and the Parkhill Office complex where his office resides.
Michael is dedicated to Auburn and is has devoted much of his time keeping good design and planning alive-- changing the face of the community in a positive way.
